USDA Organic
Organic is a labeling term that indicates that the food or other agricultural product has been produced through approved methods. The organic standards describe the specific requirements that must be verified by a USDA-accredited certifying agent before products can be labeled USDA organic.
Organic Certification allows a farm or processing facility to sell, label, and represent their products as organic. The organic brand provides consumers with more choices in the marketplace. The USDA protects consumer options by protecting the organic seal.
EU - Organic Production
The principle of organic agriculture is the sustainable production of food from balanced and fertile soil. The farm has to be managed according to the organic regulations without genetically modified organisms (GMO) and synthetics. During production and processing, the organic and non-organic products must be clearly separated and contamination must be prevented.
Organic imports from outside the EU into the EU need to be covered by a Certificate of Inspection (COI) through the EU Commission based IT Tool ‘TRACES’.
National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP)
India is accredited by the National Accreditation Body (NAB) authorized by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It follows the National Standards for Organic Production (NSOP) under the National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP) notified under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation Act), 1992 (FTDR).
Certification allows you to use the India Organic logo. The India Organic certification mark certifies that an organic food product conforms to NPOP standards.
Good Manufacturing Practice
GMP refers to the Good Manufacturing Practice Regulations promulgated by the US Food and Drug Administration under the authority of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.
GMP regulations require a quality approach to manufacturing, enabling companies to minimize or eliminate instances of contamination, mixups, and errors. This protects the consumer from purchasing a product that is not effective or even dangerous.
